Business transcription requirements vary from client to client and job to job. We customize transcription procedures and final output to meet your needs. We can handle multiple-person meeting minutes, interviews, training sessions, seminars and conference proceedings. Don't waste money or critical encounters by recording audio of poor quality. We can advise you on the best way to capture audio so that you have the clearest material from which to transcribe. See our tips about transcription for some information on this website. We can also work or communicate with facilities that may be recording audio for you so you're more certain we'll have the audio we need to generate your transcripts.
Letters, interviews, meeting minutes, reports, lectures, video tapes (VHS, SVHS, 8mm, Digital, DVD, etc.), conferences, voicemail. Transcription of existing digital audio files, training, correspondence, media coverage, multimedia. Financial transcription can require exceptional accuracy with highly specialized vocabulary used by that industry. Financial analysis, meetings, events, audits, earnings calls, and reports are examples in this area.
Areas of work include:
Formatted as required by your office or a particular court, emailed electronic files, sent to an FTP site, printouts, letters ready to sign with envelopes. Transcripts are typically verbatim for business purposes. Letters, reports, and other documents are often edited for grammar.
Work provided to you:
This category of transcription typically does not require any specific references beyond good secretarial skills and resources. We rely upon supplementary information from you about who is speaking in the audio to create more useful transcripts for you. Vocabulary and formatting needed for the financial and insurance industries can be unique. Type-thing has transcriptionists with background in these areas.
References used:
To match the current industry standards, we quote by the minute of audio to transcribe. Certain secretarial support can charged by the hour or standard page. We can provide other negotiated rates in cost per minute or hour or flat rate per job as needed to fit your business needs. See our rates page.

Why is Type-thing Services less expensive and a better value?
We are often asked about the cost of our transcription. For business transcription, your total cost is often less and our overall value greater than our competitors. Here are a few reasons why: Transcripts are typically verbatim. Dictated letters, reports, and some other work may involve conversion of spoken to written English. Our ability to perform this conversion and punctuate results in more useful documents for you. If verbatim accuracy is needed, we can do that at no extra charge. Our cross-domain experience in other fields of transcription means that we're excellent at legal transcription in these areas, particularly the medical field. We can provide 24 hour to 48 hour turn around in some situations without additional cost including scheduled regular work. We can provide rush transcription for other urgent work if we have enough capacity (at rush rates). When we apply our secretarial skills to convert your documents into final form during the transcription process, you spend less of your time or no time trying to fix faulty transcription from over-seas or less capable services. If your audio is of poor quality, we'll contact you before proceeding. We won't create and charge for a useless transcript of "indiscernibles" that you cannot use. If you want to proceed, we can attempt to enhance the audio or spend extra time working through the material slowly. Such work is difficult and fatigues the transcriptionist.
